Soil Health

Soil management refers to how a farmer works with their soils to produce crops while conserving soil resources. It includes all techniques and strategies that impact soil, including types and sequences of crops grown, residue management, tillage intensity and frequency, nutrient and pH management, and soil amendment application. Sound soil management protects soil from degradation, contributes organic materials, replenishes nutrients, and builds healthy soil, all of which support productive and resilient crop growth.
